How to Become a Change Agent- In an Easy-to-Use Website
April 24, 2006
If you Google the phrase "Government Leadership" and click on the second link, you will stumble upon GovermentLeaders.org, one of the best sources of free information about leadership available on the web. This site, created in June of 2002, contains a wealth of quotes, articles, book recommendations, and training courses for those who aspire to become more effective leaders in government. The website offers a great mix of knowledge, ranging from articles written by current management experts, to older, reprinted articles that have survived from generations past.
GovernmentLeaders.org presents a refreshingly optimistic view about changing, recruiting, and cultivating new government leaders, evident in their ‘About Us’ statement:
"It is our view that employees at all levels of government--whether they be political appointees, mid-level managers, or line employees--have the ability to play an important role in transforming their organizations. Unfortunately, most agencies have done a mediocre (or even poor) job of cultivating the skills and attitudes required to help employees become agents of change. "
